Welcome to The WOKU Index, your gateway to the World of Korai Uji. Dive into this comprehensive database to explore the rich tapestry of history, records, locations, language and Korainians that define this vibrant universe.
The planet Korai Uji is a small aqueous sphere With a radius of around 1,400 miles and an orbital period of just 88 days - making each Korainian cycle equivalent to 1.2 earth years. Korai Uji's perfectly sunny climate and deep starry nights make it a picturesque place to call home. With such good fortune, it’s no wonder why the Korainian inhabitants have come to believe in The Universe all around them.
Before Korainians fled to Uji, they settled on the Mother Isles. The Mother Isles, an archipelago of ecologically complex islands, is on the opposite side of the planet to the sloped rocky island of Uji. The Mother Isles are home to the origins of The Colony Outlands on Uji; particularly the Mountu, Sandya and Volcanis isles.
From In The Water, Chapter three
"It was my Geography of Uji classes that had taught me The Colony Outlands, the first settlements on Uji, were divided into territories for each kind of scale...
The islands are known to those on Uji as being far more fruitful than the rocky Mainland. While all individuals on the planet regard themselves Korainians, those from Uji refer to the Korainians known to have traversed the archipelago of their origin as ‘Islanders’ (comparatively referring to themselves as ‘Ujians’).
A rocky plane dominated by an active volcano, Volcanis stands as a formidable presence within The Mother Isles on the planet Korai Uji. Despite its harsh terrain, Volcanis teems with life.
Crystalline lakes shimmer under the sun, reflecting the soaring wings of an array of birdlife adapted to the unique environment. Volcanis is known to have been most populated by Blackscale Korainians, whose resilience mirrors the island's rugged landscape.
Characterised by its sandy plains and winding rivers, Sandya is a picturesque gem nestled within The Mother Isles on the planet Korai Uji.
The isle’s geography is dotted with lush lagoons and abundant with grazing animals. Sandya is known to have been most populated by Redscale Korainians, whose culture of excellence is known to even modern Ujians.
Amidst the azure waters of The Mother Isles on Korai Uji lies Mountu, a tranquil haven characterised by rolling hills and lush greenery.
Its verdant landscapes are punctuated by cascading fields and pristine beaches, inviting cultivation. Mountu is known to have been predominantly populated by Whitescale Korainians, whom retained their unique language even after their move to The Mainland of Uji.
After a series of natural disasters forced Korainians to abandon their Mother Isles in search of stability, the sloped and rocky risen land of Uji was the only candidate remaining.
created by the combined efforts of three colonies (the Whitescales of Mountu, the Redscales of Sandya and the Blackscales of Volcanis), the 70 mile-long cliff-edged island is home to many woku stories.
From In The Water, Chapter three
"It was my Geography of Uji classes that had taught me The Colony Outlands, the first settlements on Uji, were divided into territories for each kind of scale... Ino Taka brokered peace to end The War for Uji. His settlement declared the land they inhabited as neutral, and over hundreds of cycles that land became The Mainland we have today."
Long ago, a Tribe Tribunal may have governed Uji, but it was the daring Ino Taka (Known as Chief Taka I) that brought peace and established authority in The Mainland.
Their faithful leadership brought an end to The Barren Times and ushered in the glow phenomenon. Generations later, Chief Taka III established a Government guided by The Soulmate Law.
Operating from The Ovum, The Government of Uji oversee peacekeeping, entertainment, and adulthood initiations among other things, ensuring the welfare of every Mainlander under their jurisdiction.

The cycles Before Law aren’t well documented, but orally the stories are kept alive. From 111BL when disaster struck the Mother Isles, to the arrival of the first settlers on Uji around 100BL, including The Last Battle for Uji in 72BL, and The Barren Times that followed; threatening the existence of all Korainian life with an 60 cycle bout of mass infertility.

MODERN ERA
After the glow phenomenon saved Ujians from extinction, The Mainland Government's pledged to protect the phenomenon through law. In the modern era, a Law History lecture is sure to teach future generations of the Waves of Confirmation that followed, and the successful guidance that has safeguarded the planet’s population to the current cycle of 267AL.
